Suzanne Brockmann has written fifty books, and is widely recognized as one of the leading voices in romantic suspense. Her work has earned her repeated appearances on the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists, as well as numerous awards, including Romance Writers of America's #1 Favorite Book of the Year (three years running), two RITA Awards, and many Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Awards.
Coming to Florida with a long history in LGBT activism and support, Suzanne and Ed are proud PFLAG parents and have been long time seasonal residents of the Suncoast. It was for this reason that they chose Sarasota as the site of their most recent project - a film called The Perfect Wedding. A feature-length romantic comedy, The Perfect Wedding was written by Ed and Suzanne and their son, actor/writer Jason T. Gaffney. It was directed by award-winner Scott Gabriel and filmed entirely in Sarasota. If you look closely you may even see some of the Suncoast’s best LGBT leaders as extra’s.
The Perfect Wedding tells the story of Paul and Gavin, two young gay men who meet and fall in love when they spend a holiday weekend at Paul's parents' house, where they’ve gathered to help plan Paul's sister’s summer wedding.
Equality Florida members will get an exclusive chance to meet Suzanne and Ed as well as several members of the cast of The Perfect Wedding at Equality Florida’s 2011 Suncoast Gala on October 1st (www.eqfl.org/suncoastgala).
