On Thursday, November 10th, Equality Florida was honored as the "Most Effective LGBT Organization" by the readers of Watermark - Central Florida's premier LGBT newspaper.
"We're thrilled to be recognized by the readers of Watermark as the most effect LGBT organization," said Brian Winfield, communications director for Equality Florida. "Winning the the 2011 WAVE Award is particularly gratifying because Watermark covers Central Florida - the most politically critical region fo Florida."
The award comes on the heels of the record breaking 2011 Greater Orlando Gala - an event that bring political, faith and civic leaders togehter to show their support for securing full equality for Florida's LGBT community, while raising the critical funding necessary to do this important work.
