Today, after almost a week of dropping hints, Rep. Richard Steinberg (D- 106) announced via Facebook status that he is NOT running for the Florida Senate District 35 in 2010. Instead, he announced his decision to seek another term in the House and support for former Senator Gwen Margolis' candidacy for the Senate seat.

Steinberg was elected to the Florida House in 2008 with the endorsement of the EQFL Action PAC. In the 2009 legislative session, Rep. Steinberg was the lead sponsor of a bill proposing a statewide Domestic Partnership recognition.
Here's Rep. Steinberg's message from Facebook:
"

Richard Steinberg

says: After much consideration and discussion with my family, I have decided to continue serving our community by seeking another term in the Florida House. I have endorsed Senator Margolis in her bid to return to the Florida Legislature and look forward to serving with her."
