Tomorrow, a committee in the Florida House of Representatives will vote on a bill that allows private agencies to use their religious or moral convictions to discriminate against qualified parents looking to adopt a child.

If signed into law, private child placement agencies could refuse to place a child with a certain family on the basis of gender, religion, race, political beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity or family status.

Ultimately, the children of Florida will bear the consequences of this law: Family Discrimination Bill (PCB HHSC 15-03) will result in fewer options for our vulnerable children and placements with less appropriate families. Now is not the time to make adoption harder!

Please call and tweet the members of the committee urging them to vote ‘NO’ on this bill.
