We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers who care about equality and who are willing to share their enthusiasm with others. Volunteer shifts typically last three hours, and involve engaging passers-by, signing up new members, and spreading the word about Equality Florida's work.

ACTION ALERT: Orange County Partnership Registry agenda'd for Feb. 21st

Last week Equality Florida and the Orlando Anti-Discrimination Ordinance Committee released a statement rebutting many of the concerns raised by Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs about the constitutionality and necessity of a domestic partnership registry ordinance that specifically names and defines domestic partners. The first page of that statement is below. The entire letter is attached.

Equality Florida Field Director contributes to NPR's "My Voice"

Last week I visited Orlando's NPR Station (WMFE - 90.7FM) to record a short segment about our campaign for domestic partnership protections in Orange County. My contribution to WMFE's very popular "My Voice" program celebrates the City of Orlando for it's creation of Central Florida's first domestic partnership registry and calls on Orange County government to follow suit. 

BREAKING: Orlando Domestic Partnership Registry Passes Unanimously!

I've just left Orlando City Hall where moments ago Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Orlando City Commission have voted unanimously to create Central Florida's first domestic partnership registry!

LIVE NOW- Orlando City Commission Final Vote on Domestic Partnership Registry

Today the Orlando City Commission will hold it's first hearing on enacting a domestic partnership registry in the city. The commission meeting is currently underway and the room is packed with supporters wearing red in support of the registry. 

Last week the Commission voted unanimously to move the registry forward.
