Lauderdale, FL) - Equality Florida commends Broward County Commissioners for unanimously approving Florida’s first countywide Equal Benefits Ordinance (EBO), a measure that requires the county’s vendors to provide domestic partners with benefits equal to those offered to spouses of married employees.

Lauderdale, FL) --An educator inspired to action by the suicide of a student and a fearless advocate who once requested a meeting with his congressman by convincing a flight attendant to slip him a note will be honored on November 13 at the Equality Florida Broward Gala.  Teri Williams and Michael Rajner will each receive the Voice for Equality Award for their tireless work on behalf of Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community during Equality Florida’s 2011 Broward Gala at the Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art.
