UPDATE: Tampa Moves Forward on Domestic Partnership Registry

This morning the Tampa City Council voted unanimously to move forward toward the creation of a Domestic Partnership Registry.

It was a proud moment to see standing room only in the chamber, filled with community members wearing red to show their support for a Domestic Partnership Registry. A remarkable line up of community leaders turned out, and in the end not a single person spoke in opposition of moving forward with this critical measure.

Click here to thank the City Council for their commitment to passing a strong Domestic Partnership Registry, and encourage your friends to do so as well.

A Domestic Partnership Registry is a simple legal tool that provides access to a handful of essential family protections including hospital visitation, emergency notification and the ability to make funeral arrangements.

Help us keep up the momentum by sending an email to the council members. Tell them it's time that the City of Tampa send the message that all families are welcome.

Mark your calendars for April 5th.
The Domestic Partnership Registry will be up for a final vote on April 5th and it's critical that we let the Tampa City Council that we're standing with them. Arrive by 8:45am to sign up to speak during the public discussion period that begins at 9am.
