Book Signing / Benefit This Sunday in Branden

Florida Council member Lisa Boeving, writing under the pen name Lynette Mae, will be celebrating the release of her first novel, Faithful Service, Silent Hearts, this Sunday 2pm-5pm at the Cork and Olive in Brandon. Also that day, we will be raffling off items to raise money for an important film project that we would like to share with Equality Florida members.

Survived By... Is an Indie film project about the inequities suffered by LGBT members of our armed forces, especially when one dies in the line of duty. The repeal of DADT is a victory but there is still discrimination because the family members of LGBT people serving our country do not receive equal benefits of all military dependents.

The time for this film is now while the topic is hot and highly misunderstood.

The money raised will go for remaining production costs (the wonderful cast and crew donated their time but we would like to cover some of the expenses they incurred while filming), expenses for post-production (editing, color correction, audio equalization, music, effects, etc.) and entry fees for independent film festivals around the country to get the film out to a wider audience and enlighten them on this subject.

Please join us on Sunday for a day of friendship, books, wine, and fun. Our featured guest the legendary author Lee Lynch.
