Fort Myers center opens doors to LGBT youth

It's the beginning of spring break and within an office of multi-colored walls, the non-profit Visuality has opened its doors for the first time.

The 2,200 sq. foot space in the Royal Palm Plaza wants to be a safe place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning young people.

It's taken almost two years to get it to Southwest Florida.

"A lot of college kids are becoming volunteers," said Carrie Keohane, vice-president and co-founder of the non-profit. "They've made it through those (difficult) teen years and they've found a path."
