Orlando supports overturning gay marriage ban

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -The City of Orlando will file a brief as a friend of the court in cases in Florida where couples are challenging the ban on same sex marriage. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer gave a simple reason. 



"Number one, it's the right thing to do," he told us.



Mayor Dyer says there's another reason for filing this amicus curiae brief. He says the economy will benefit if Orlando is known as a progressive city.



"If you are a city that promotes inclusion and fairness and quality you are more likely to attract this generation of knowledge workers that will make our city successful in the future."
