Dan Gelber jumps into AG race

The Orlando Sentinel Blog reports:

TALLAHASSEE -- State Sen. Dan Gelber, D-Miami Beach, has declared on his Web site that he's running for attorney general, the second Democratic legislator to get into the race.

The Web site, though, still has the press release featured prominently declaring his now scrapped campaign for the U.S. Senate.

"The challenges of our time have never been greater and the need for bold solutions has never been more important," Gelber says on the site. "For someone who believes deeply in public service, like me, this is the time to stand up and fight for the principles and people you care about. It is in that spirit that today I announced my candidacy for the United States Senate."

State Sen. Dave Aronberg, D-Greenacres, announced last week he was running for the open attorney general's post.
