This Wednesday, March 29, we have a big opportunity to make our voices heard. Once every 20 years, a commission meets to review the Florida Constitution and recommend changes for voter consideration.
The Commission, which starts meeting in 2017 and will finish its work in 2018, is important and powerful because with 22 votes, it can place constitutional revisions directly on the 2018 ballot. There is no automatic court review. It will take 60% of the voters for any of these changes to be added to the constitution.
