Equality Florida released the following statement, by Managing Director Brian Winfield, regarding today's Federal Appeals Court ruling that found California's Proposition 8 unconstitutional:
"Today's decision is a wonderful victory, not only for same-sex couples, but also for everyone who knows the value of love and fairness.
Today the Orlando City Commission will hold it's first hearing on enacting a domestic partnership registry in the city. The commission meeting is currently underway and the room is packed with supporters wearing red in support of the registry.
Last week the Commission voted unanimously to move the registry forward.
