India Clarke, a 25-year old transgender woman, was tragically murdered in Tampa on Tuesday, July 21.
India is the 10th transgender woman to be murdered in the U.S. already this year. With the increased visibility of the transgender community, violence has increased alarmingly across our nation, especially against gender-variant people of color.
On Friday, July 24, community members came together for a candlelight vigil in Tampa to honor the life of India Clarke. And hundreds of people across the state and beyond have reached out to share their personal condolences to the Clarke family. Click here to read the messages.
