BREAKING NEWS Two Victories in Tampa Bay!

Tampa and Saint Pete Unanimously Support Domestic Partnership Registries

First thing this morning the Tampa City Council voted unanimously to create Tampa Bay's first Domestic Partnership Registry!

Beginning on July 4th, when the registry goes into effect, couples can gain the right to make medical decisions for an incapacitated partner, be notified in a life threatening emergency, visit a partner in a health-care facility and make funeral and burial decisions should a partner pass away.

Thanks to the hundreds of volunteers and advocates who shared their stories and showed up in person to support the registry. Special thanks to our friends and allies at the ACLU. You made this victory possible.

Now it's St. Pete's turn!

This afternoon, St. Pete City Council Member Steve Kornell and the entire City Council unanimously directed the city attorney to draft a proposed policy to create their own Domestic Partnership Registry in the coming weeks.

Click here to thank the Saint Petersburg City Council for their commitment to passing a strong Domestic Partnership Registry, and encourage your friends to do so as well.
